The Zhou Lab research is focused on the study of the fundamental molecular mechanisms of epigenetic control of gene expression in human biology and disease. The current research studies involve structural and functional characterization of epigenetic proteins by using NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography, as well as structure-guided design of small-molecule modulators for these proteins. The laboratory is surrounded in an interdisciplinary research environment and equipped with state-of-the-art research facilities, and has steady access to a cluster of 800 MHz and 900 MHz ultra-high-field NMR systems at the New York Structural Biology Center, as well as to the beam-lines at the synchrotron facility at the Brookhaven National Laboratory.

We welcome inquiry from scientists who are highly motivated to tackle challenging problems in epigenomics research, and have a recent PhD degree in Protein NMR Spectroscopy, X-ray Crystallography, or Synthetic Organic Chemistry.
